Truck Tuesday

Tonight begins the final stretch of Penguin hockey.

As much as I want to give Ryan Miller a big hug for being the MVP of Olympic Hockey - I can't wait to see the penguins, espically Crosby, stick it to him tonight. Anyone who was not a hockey fan before, but got into Olympic hockey, really should be watching the Pens/Sabres game tonight if only to watch Crosby and Miller matched up again - talk about two unbelievable players!

Other Penguins news - Yesterday the Pens traded a second round pick for Jordan Leopold. So we have a new player, but we didn't have to give up anyone to get him. Sounds like a good trade to me. No but seriously, I have no idea what that means...

Anywho who is Jordan Leopold? Well here is the short version. He won the 01-02 Hobey Baker award. He has had a good number of injuries, illnesses, etc that have slowed him down a bit. Sounds like if he could just man up a bit he might make a decent hockey player. I guess we will fine out soon.

It seems like football season was ages ago, but actully the super bowl was only about a month ago. We have just under 5 months till the Steelers go to training camp and just under six until their first game. Dang, thats a long time!

Until then, here's a Steelers "feel good" story for you.

Last week Troy Polamalu was at his niece's vollyball game in a gym outside of phoenix. A ten year old kid spotted him and when Trot got up to get a snack the kid followed and asked for him to sign something. Soon a crowd formed and Troy stayed calm and friendly, signing things and talking to kids.
Sadly, even that is a rarity with pro-athletes, cough-Ovechkin-cough.
But Polamalu's kindness didn't stop there. After signing things he went outside for a game of two hand touch with the kids. He played long enough for one of the teams to score eight touchdowns, so it wasn't just a photo op, he actually played for a while! Thank goodness for athletes like him!

Til Next Tuesday,

Truck

just an update, ryan miller will NOT be playing tonight. experts such as barry "golden mullet" melrose and myself believe that this is a good call. morons like herm edwards think there is no excuse for him not to play. come on people, he played 8 amazing games in vancouver, losing the gold medal game and probably losing sleep. unless ryan miller wants to play, let him rest.

Well Boo. That last I had heard (when I was writing) was that he was still playing. Thanks for the update.
