Penn State Phryday

Yinzers,

The men's Nittwits basketball team has played two games since last Friday. On Saturday, Febrary 28, the Nittany Lions took on the Northwestern Wildcats at the Beej Center. The Nittany Lions pulled out a victory, 79-60. There were three Penn Staters to score in double digits. Taylor Battle put up another 16 points with 6 assists and 6 rebounds. Chris Babb and Jeff Brooks added 14 and 11 respectively. This was the second win for the Nittany Lions over the Wildcats this year.

Coming off their big 19 point win against the Northwestern Wildcats, the Nittany Lions turned their focus to the #12 Michigan State Spartans when they traveled to East Lansing last night. The game turned out to be a "close, but no cigar" type of game for the Nittany Lions, dropping the game 67-65. The Nittany Lions put up quite a fight, but could not pull it off. The Spartans squandered a 10 point second half lead, but managed to stave off the Nittany Lion attack. It took a last second free throw to put the Spartans up 67-65, and the inability to get down the floor and get a shot away by the Nittany Lions to finish the game. The Nittany Lions had 4 players score in the double digits: Taylor Battle and Chris Babb put home 16, Jeff Brooks had 13 and David Jackson had 12. The Nittany Lions' last game of the season is tomorrow at 2:30pm when the #6 Purdue Boilermakers come to the Beej Center.

After today, it's Spring Break! Have a great week ladies and gentlemen and we'll be back next week.

For the Glory,
B Brog
