Truck Tuesday: MSM vs. Food Edition

Last Saturday night (july24) the Igloo Club (Matt, Wade & I) started out trek to the Pittsburgh - which was my first trip to the burgh. Over the course of the week, M & W worked hard to prove why Pittsburgh was number one. They even showed me this video.

Well...what do you say after that?

The Igloo Club visited the Heinz History Museum, Kennywood, Rivers Casino, Matt's farm in California, PA, Wade's family, B Brog's men's hockey league game, Strip District, Trolly Car up Mt. Washington, golf with Ralph, Thrift store shopping, Clarks concert at Fayette County Fair, etc etc etc. Overall a fantastic vacation with too many stories to tell!

There was one overall theme of the entire trip: FOOD! We ate Betos, Primanti's, Delucca's, Quaker Steak & Lube, Rosie's Perogies, Carnival food at Kennywood, Eat'n Park, and fantastic meals such as a yinzer salad! I think I probably gained 10lbs from the whole food experience, but I wouldn't go back and change any of those terrible decisions.

On Wednesday the MSM (Wade, B Brog and I) had the best food day of the trip - also known as MSM vs. Food, which means we ate at all the restaurants that the host of Man vs. Food ate at in Pittsburgh.

We started at Delucca's in the Strip District with the mixed grill.

It was a huge eggy, cheesy, peppery, potatoey and sausagey maigical bliss of food. Pretty heavy for breakfast, but we were able to walk it off while perusing the strip.

For lunch we hit the orginal Primanti Brothers in the Strip. I had a Pittsburgher with an egg. Pittsburgher = texas toast, steak, cole slaw, french fries and cheese. An interesting, but deliciously greasy lunch meal.

At that point I really wasn't hungry because Delucca's was so heavy, so I was not able to finish, but I made a good effort.

For dinner, we picked up Mathias, B Brog's bud and headed to Quaker Steak & Lube. This is where the magic happened - Truck showed up for the first and only time of the trip. Good times were had. The food was good, but unmemorable (aka, I dont remember it) therefore it was nothing compared to the two prior meals of the day.

It was also great to finally have our first MSM staff meeting, there was so much to discuss that we will have to have another meeting this coming Thursday.

More Pittsburgh Stories to tell next Tuesday,

Truck
