Ugly Betty!

Hey Yinzers,

Steelers played a knockdown drag out game against the ravens last night. To say the least It was rough. We also lost some players( for the year) that may be done for quite a while. Rashard Mendenhall is done for the season with a broken shoulder, Kendal Simmons is done for the season suffering a Achilles injury and Cary Davis was taken to the locker room with a ankle injury. This all started with the opening kickoff when Andre Frasier was injured with a spine injury .

This is quite unfortunate and now we have to see how good our replacements are. We can still win the division and we can still make a run, but we may have to make some moves to keep Ben safe. Ben has no time in the pocket to make a decision or to have a pocket not collapse on him like a few years ago. The O line is our weakness and the running game has suffered quite a loss from last night. But we are 3-1, our games have been close and we are playing the toughest schedule in league history. Steeler fans should not bitch , they should go ahead and still think we can be in every game. I would rather deal with season ending injuries than with those dumb asses in Dallas with their drama of oh throw the ball to me?!@#$%. Thank god I am a Steelers fan.

What the hell was I thinking,

Steelers are on tonight vs the Baltimoron Ratbirds. The Steelers are banged up and bringing a record 13 straight Monday night wins are coming into this game to take hold of our division for the rest of the year. Get out your towels for Myron, and wear your throwback jerseys- tonight is going to be a good one!

Ooh Rashard mendenhol texted some of the Baltimoron Ravens and said he was going to run all over them - big deal . I hope the Mini -bus does it. The steelers have not drafted a running back in the first round since Franco back in the day. I hope they run the score up early.

So Paul Newman died on Saturday, I was never a huge P Newman fan but I will always remember him as Player Coach Redge Dunlop of the Charleston Chiefs In the movie SLAP SHOT. This is one of my favorite movies of all time- He will be terribly missed:

College
What a weekend in College football, USC goes down, Georgia goes down and ECU is done. The South Carolina Gamecocks had an open scrimmage vs the Blazers of UAB on Saturday. All Carolina did was get ready for next week against Ole Miss in front of 91,000 fans. Oh by the way Ole Miss beat Mormon Myer with a blocked feild goal- and basically put 4-0 Vanderbilt in the lead of the conference. Ridiculous.

Penn State
Joe pa does it again , for the first time in a very long time Penn State is 5-0 , along with Michigan knocking off Wisconsin on Saturday, the Nitiany Lions are looking pretty damn good in the Big 10 conference. As long as they show up they can do it this season. Great White out game- on Saturday.

Well I hope that gets everyone off to a great start of the week, I will have a full NFL run down for you on Tuesday after the Steelers play tonight vs the ravens.

In the world of sports broadcasting there is allot of backtracking as the big name teams fall , left and right. A week ago the Trojans of USC California were said to be unbreakable , unstoppable and Beaver proof. Well that is not the case they fell for the second time in three years to the feet of The Oregon State Beavers. Well just like a bad breakup the sports writers will now plead for the Trojans to take them back and if they do run the table will win the PAC 10 and meet in the BCS- ah but will they get to play for something? NAH .....probably not. Nice work beavers!

You know when you were little and you went to school on a rainy Friday and just didn't want to be there so you "fake a cough and had a fever" ( well I did) and your grandma would show up and get you instant half day. That is how I feel about watching the Steelers on Monday night it is really either going to be quite a beating or we are going to take one. I am very worried without the presence of Willie Parker and "Big Snack" Casey Hampton. Plus there are rumblings on the message boards about the Tomlin era already, I know it is going to take time, and with a fixed line we could be a threat. as of right now the AFC is totally up for grabs. Steelers - Ravens 8:30 Monday night.



Pitt basketball



So Pitt basketball coach Jamie Dixon got an extension, and he will be heading the panthers for a few more years. That is great maybe we can win an elite 8 game before I apply for AARP. Congrats - please win the big one.

Penguins are in Toronto for a preseason scrimmage game at 7:30pm tonight- please no more injuries.

Hockey is Back!

So pre-season is underway for the upcoming hooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo--ckey season. And all ready Sergi Gonchar was hurt in a 4-3 loss to the tampa bay lightning at the Civic arena. I don't know how much time he will miss but he is our big stud on the blue line. With all the moving around it is going to take me some time to really know who is new on the roster. ( look at those beautiful bastards in Pittsburgh)

Being a Baseball fan does not mean much when you pull for the Pirates anymore- we just signed another high price rookie to back up our no offense and no Defense. Great something to loo forward too. We have a great stadium, pirogi races etc etc. but no team. So I am sure I will talk about baseball playoffs when they come around but until then - we still don't care!

Well the Heckler and I had a roaring good time in Louisville this past week. With it all culminating driving home at 5am yesterday morning. As you might not have known We went to the Louisville Cardinal game vs K-state on Wednesday night played lots of golf and then went to Day Cabin in Paoli Indiana. It was my fall trip to see the Heckler and his clan - we had a great time and I thank them for all their hospitality.

What the hell? The US beat the Euro's for the Ryder Cup. Everyone and their brother picked the Euro's to just destroy us. But with Azingers's band of the most unruly and non-tiger golfers they beat them . That's right no Tiger Woods.

Steelers = Terrible

Steelers O line with Ben on his back cost us the game yesterday. I feel bad for the Brognano Brothers up at state college who will now get harassed by every fare weather Philly fan because of the loss to the Eagles- sorry guys don't worry the rest of that division is super weak this year, the Skins, cowgirls and Giants are such pushovers( yeah right). Could someone please block for Ben and give him more than 2 seconds to throw the ball- give me a break. Oh well bring on the Rat birds on Monday night.

A new jobber

Tonight I go back to hosting a radio shift here in the Columbia SC area, We don't have a name for it but whatever. If you are interested I will be on from 11pm - 5:30am the graveyard shift. Oh yeah- I think it will be great! Listen at new92.com or 92.1 in the local area.

Gamecock me

As for the gamecocks- we struggled with Wofford and as any Gamecock fan knows this is big trouble. We Have UAB coming to town and year after year they are no pushover. The gamecocks are starting to look real bad real fast- and with the bottom part of the schedule we really need a play caller who knows what the hell we are capable of. Stop calling above the Athleticism of our athletes this is not Florida, get a clue.

So check my meter come Monday morning the Steelers beat the Browns for the 10th straight time. I would like to personally thank Wally's Ale house on Broad river road In Columbia. We had a great time with the Budweiser flowing, because someone f-d up and didn't have the Rolling rock like the NIX loves.

I would also like to shout out the best Pre game- Post game at 102.5 WDVE Pittsburgh. They are the top of the mountain for me. I work in radio and Tv and I am not ashamed to say that my favorite station on anything is DVE.

Congrats to the Steelers. Ben dodged huge questions about his shoulder, and Mike " shaft" Tomlin almost blew it when he called an ill fated timeout. Ben had the First- that is ok because Fast Willie Parker broke a 13 yard run off - then you could pound the final nails in the Coffin.

Done like Dinner.

So I Nix am going to visit the NIX heckler for the next week. Hopefully Jim and Mike Vero can hold the fort at MSM and I can enjoy a few good days away from the MSM. I will miss you all. and be back on Tuesday next week.

The heckler and I have the Ryder cup in Louisville together. It is a once in a lifetime chance to watch people play golf way better than we can ever be.

We are also going to be at the Louisville and K-state game on ESPN on Wed. 8pm. we are excited to see another game at the Papa John. I apologise for stepping away but for any sports fan I think you already understand! I appreciate your support, and the hits we get on the Web site.

I call it delusional Thursday because Nix has predicted South Carolina to defeat Georgia this Saturday. I say there is a better chance that Obama wins the election! NOT GONNA HAPPEN!!

Week 1 NFL has left us with some interesting things as we move forward. Like Cleveland sucks, New England is gonna suck, Indianapolis is not what they used to be and San Diego isn't either. So what does that leave us with? The Steelers!!!! And oh yeah...Lady Quinn will be starting for Cleveland by week 4.

They pounded the Texans like a 2 dollar whore, and they'll do the same to the Brownie's this Sunday night.

The Cleveland Browns have lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers every game since the 2002 season , and in the wild card game that year an insurance salesman turned quarterback beat the browns by scoring 24 unanswered points to beat them. Tommy Maddox where are you. Well the rivalry is renewed this Sunday on NBC at 8:30 pm. Tell your parents to let you stay up.

Ok i have heard enough, yes it's Wednesday, about Tom Brady's season ending surgery. Enough we know every one loves those Patriots and every one knows Mike Tomlin would Jack Belichecks SH** up in an ally. So enough already sign someone and shut up.

Yes my Teams Quarter back is out for the season. So just because you sold your soul to the devil Archie to make this happen still does not mean one of your boys will win another Super Bowl ring...Although Peyton was looking very sheepish on Sunday, maybe you can use him as sacrificial lamb.

Monday night football last night, I tried to stay a wake but a couldn't that's how much a cared about those two games. I haven't even seen the highlights or looked at the scores. I think I am still pissed of about the ACL tear. Although the last time a Pats QB went down they went onto to win it all, maybe its just some sort of Sick Twisted plan. Someone should Have told the Mannings that the Devil wears a hooded sweatshirt with the sleeves cut off and pair wind pants. You know the greatest trick the devil ever played was 21 straight wins. So the big rumor over night is that bicycling great Lance " one nut" Armstrong is coming back to the Tour DE France 2009. Whew! Just when you thought sports was dead the 7 time Tour DE France winner is back. I never thought we would hear the terms Anti-doping committee again. listen if that SOB who beat cancer twice and wants to come back and kick more ass for America why not.
If he comes back it would be great- but his old team said that he is not welcome back and no one really knows if this is just some nerd on the Internet whom got board and wrote a fake story- anyways at least good ole 1 nut may be back. He should totally look into dating Sheryl Crowe one more time- she is an ole' fox.


In other ridiculous sports news, big loser on the Field "Oh - NO - I - stink - OH" is not getting his way again . Reebok has stepped into the Chad Johnson controversy about wearing his new name on the back of his jersey . Hey America wake up, this fool is going to make a killing on Ocho Sinco jerseys.
